Artist's Description
The first time I visited Australia I was so impressed with the outback and Ayers Rock (Uluru) that I wanted to paint it when I returned home.
I decided to paint this surreal interpretation of Aborigine lore -- "Dreamtime" (the time before time, a dream-like experience). Here I have Ayers Rock (Uluru) floating over the outback, balanced at the end of a road, suspended in the sky.
An aborigine is crossing the road where "Dreamtime" is spelled out in rocks. This work is influenced by Dali and Magritte.

About Jerome Stumphauzer
I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day. I am influenced by a diverse group of artists who have come before me -- from da Vinci and Dali to Monet and Lassen. This website has helped me reach an audience all over the world.
