Artist's Description
My name is Jerome so, when I heard there was a city in Arizona named "Jerome" I had to visit. It is a great town near Sedona Arizona (see my paintings of Sedona).
Jerome was a wild west copper mining town; it shut down, became a ghost town and then (of course) an artist colony. It is is well worth visiting. There is a "J" up on Cleopatra Hill, a couple great art galleries, hotels and two wonderful saloons!
I have painted "Jerome" in skywriting. The buildings, roads and cars are all accurate! The original oil painting continues on to the 1 inch sides. See my other Southwestern paintings.
This art would fit many home decors and would make a great gift!
About Jerome Stumphauzer
I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day. I am influenced by a diverse group of artists who have come before me -- from da Vinci and Dali to Monet and Lassen. This website has helped me reach an audience all over the world.
