The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description
I am a self-taught artist and THIS IS MY VERY FIRST PAINTING!!! At the time I was reading "The Agony and the Ecstasy" and read that the masters learned by copying paintings.
That summer I began by copying 3 Miro paintings and, fortunately, I still have this -- the first one! This Miro served as the album cover for Dave Brubeck's "Time Further Out," which I used as my reference image.
Many years later I did get to see the original in a large Miro exposition in Paris. Long ago a psychoanalysist interpreted the painting for me: it represents sperm, fertilization, pregnancy, birth, life and death (the black spot)!
This art would make a great print on canvas, paper or metal -- a colorful, mysterious piece for your home or office. A wonderful gift!
About Jerome Stumphauzer
I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day. I am influenced by a diverse group of artists who have come before me -- from da Vinci and Dali to Monet and Lassen. This website has helped me reach an audience all over the world.
