Artist's Description
This original oil painting was commissioned by a collector who took the original reference photo while on a trek of Nepal. The woman is carrying a basket of wheat over the hill to her village.
I wanted the bright red wrap to jump off the canvas in contrast to the misty background mountains. She is walking toward the light.
This would work well as a print or canvas for home decor or for your workplace.
About Jerome Stumphauzer
I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for many years. At the same time my photography has developed following the same principles of composition and color. Much of my work has a "save the environment" theme and my inspiration comes from nature and visions of light and color. My interest in art began in the 5th grade with a remarkable teacher who, along with all the other subjects, made time for art and music every day.
